Identra

Locations / Dallas / Fort Worth

Microsoft security consulting across the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.

DFW is the largest inland metro in Texas and the second-largest concentration of financial services, defense contracting, and logistics operations in the state. Every one of those verticals runs Microsoft 365 with a specific regulator overlay: NYDFS Part 500 or FFIEC for financial services, CMMC and DFARS 7012 for defense contractors, HIPAA for healthcare, and IRS 1075 for revenue-adjacent public sector. Identra configures the tenant to satisfy the regulator that matters.

02 / What it looks like

Three DFW engagements.

Different sectors of the Metroplex economy, same Microsoft 365 platform.

CIO at a DFW-headquartered regional bank

Situation. Bank operates across Texas with a small NY branch office bringing the entire enterprise under NYDFS Part 500. Existing Microsoft 365 configuration passed FFIEC but had never been mapped to Part 500.

Outcome. PIM turned on for all privileged Entra roles. FIDO2 keys deployed to Class A Company covered accounts. NYDFS Part 500 evidence pack produced for the annual CISO certification. Both FFIEC and NYDFS reviewed the same underlying tenant configuration.

Compliance Manager at a Fort Worth defense subcontractor

Situation. Prime contract renewal explicitly required CMMC Level 2 assessment before award. Existing commercial-cloud tenant mixed CUI and non-CUI content.

Outcome. CUI enclave stood up in GCC High. Commercial tenant retained for non-CUI operations. SSP drafted against 800-171 Rev 3. C3PAO assessment scheduled and passed before the contract award window.

CISO at a Plano-based healthcare payer

Situation. Payer handles claims data for multiple providers. HIPAA audit combined with a data-sharing agreement audit produced 25 findings. Compliance team unclear which findings applied to the Microsoft 365 tenant vs the claims processing platform.

Outcome. Findings triaged into tenant-configuration items (18) and platform items (7). Tenant items closed in a 6-week Identra engagement. Combined findings register closed with the auditor in the following quarter.

03 / Frequently asked

What buyers ask first.

Do you serve both Dallas and Fort Worth?
Yes. Identra works across the entire DFW Metroplex, from downtown Dallas to Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, Arlington, Irving, and McKinney. Delivery is remote-first regardless of location within the Metroplex, with on-site workshops or executive briefings scheduled where useful.
What financial services regulators apply to DFW firms?
DFW-headquartered banks are typically supervised by the OCC (national banks) or the Texas Department of Banking (state banks), plus FDIC for deposit insurance. Insurance companies fall under Texas Department of Insurance. Asset managers and broker-dealers under SEC and FINRA. Any firm doing business in New York adds NYDFS Part 500. Identra scopes the specific regulator overlay for each customer.
Are you a Microsoft Solutions Partner?
Identra is a Microsoft-focused consultancy. Solutions Partner accreditation status is confirmed on request. What matters more for a technical engagement is direct hands-on experience with Entra P2, Defender XDR, Purview, and Sentinel in production tenants at the customer scale, which is what Identra delivers.
Do you handle Microsoft 365 licensing decisions?
Identra advises on licensing implications of the security controls the customer wants to configure (E3 vs E5, GCC vs GCC High, Sentinel commitment tier). Actual licence purchasing goes through the customer Microsoft account or their CSP. If the customer does not have a CSP relationship we can refer to trusted Texas-local Microsoft Solutions Partners.
What is the typical DFW engagement size?
Most DFW engagements run 10 to 20 weeks depending on the sector and regulator scope. Financial services runs 12 to 16 weeks. CMMC Level 2 engagements run 16 to 24 weeks. Healthcare and logistics engagements typically 10 to 14 weeks. Fixed scope, fixed price.
